Life Legacy

Richard Moore Sharp
Native of Kirkwood, Missouri, died Sunday, March 2nd, 2014 after a long battle with Agent Orange cancer.
Mr. Sharp attended Kirkwood Schools and Wentworth Military Academy until being drafted in 1966 to bravely represent his country in Vietnam. Upon his return he completed his degree in Graphics Arts at Central Missouri State University and his masters in Industrial Arts at Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville. Mr. Sharp taught at Hancock School District. He also started his own construction company doing historical restorations in Lafayette Square. He was active in Boy Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Lafayette Square Irish People, 18th Street La Rue Krew, and the founder of the 84th Engineer Battalion Company Vietnam reunions.
Mr. Sharp was son of the late J. Paul Sharp. He is survived by his mother, Mildred “Peg” Sharp of Kirkwood; wife, Kristine Wagner Sharp; son, John Paul Sharp and brother, John C. Sharp. His brother William precedes him in death.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 28th at the 9th Street Abbey in Soulard from 5-9pm. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warrior Project or BJC Hospice. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel.
