Mary Ann Brinker
Mary Ann Brinker (nee Lemonds), died peacefully Mon., Dec. 19, 2016 with family at her side. Mary Ann was born March 18, 1934 in St. Louis, the only daughter of Clyde and Inis Lemonds. In 1953 she married Ronald E. Brinker, who lived down the street from her growing up. Beloved wife and mother, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son Rick and husband Ron. She is survived by her sons Gary (Jean), Tom (Laurie) and Joe (Susan), grandchildren Eric, Kristen, Allie, Abby, Brad, Diane and Mark, great-granddaughter Ava, her cousins, nephews, nieces and many dear friends.
Mary Ann lived a full life with many interests and passions. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and loved to paint, especially in watercolor. Flowers were her favorite subject, but she also learned to paint portraits and other objects. She traveled to Maine several times to paint lighthouses. Before developing her passion for watercolors, Mary Ann was an avid china painter.
After she and Ron became the first winners of the grand prize in the Missouri Lottery, Mary Ann decided to teach herself how to invest their winnings. She became a very savvy investor, and founded an all-female investment club to share her experience and help others with investing. She was a lifelong learner, always eager to expand her horizons, share her knowledge and learn alongside her friends and family.
Her other hobbies and interests included gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting, golf, and games with friends and family. She was a surprisingly good ping-pong player in younger days, taking part in highly spirited competitions with her sons. Mary Ann loved attending auctions with Ron, searching for depression glass, antiques and other treasures to display at their home and their house at the lake. She will be missed at the monthly "Club" meetings she attended with her closest friends for the last 60 years.
The family would like to thank the care-givers at Bethesda, where Mary Ann lived for the last nine years, for their support and compassion in helping her and Ron live full and independent lives.
