William “Bill” Odlum was born on May 18, 1926 and passed peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Beloved husband of the late Nadine M. Odlum (nee Hinrichs); loving father of Thomas Wayne (Deborah) Odlum, Susan Marie (Gerard) Wehrle, and Janice Ann Odlum; dear grandfather of Lindsay (Kaare) Utt, Matthew Odlum, Angela (JB Luken) Odlum, Cara (Kyle) Wells, and Brittany Wehrle; great-grandfather of Braden, Avery and Alexander Utt; dear brother of the late Dorothy, Terry, and Margaret; dear uncle and friend to many.
After returning from service in the Korean War, Bill worked at Carter Carburetor as an inspector for 43 years and the St. Louis County Library for 7 years. He was a loving husband of 59 years to Nadine and in her later life a dedicated caregiver....and a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had been a longtime parishioner at St. Clement Catholic Church in Des Peres. Bill was a fun-loving person that never met a stranger with a passion for music and a love for dancing. He took great pride in his yard and was saddened the day he had to retire his John Deere at the age of 89. Bill brought joy to everyone he was around and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
