The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Byerly can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Obituary for James Byerly

James Byerly
Byerly, James “Jim” E. peacefully Jan. 20 surrounded by his loving family.
Adoring husband of Barbara, proud father of Carolyn Jill Byerly (Allan) Crean and William Scott Byerly, grandfather of Kate Jordan (Chad Lantz) Crean, Kevin (Katie) Crean, Sarah (Jake) Winkler, and great grandfather of Landon and Noah.

Jim was the youngest of four children born to William and Esther. His siblings included Laverne, “Bud,” and Doris.
Services private. A public gathering to celebrate his life will be held in the Kirkwood Train Station on Sunday, Feb. 4 from 1 to 3:30 pm. Jim loved his family, friends and Kirkwood. He was passionate about the Train Station and the St Louis Baseball Cardinals, so please consider wearing your Cardinals gear to the event.

Jim was proud to be a KHS grad and of his service to the US Marine Corps. He was a member of the Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce; Kirkwood’s Human Rights Commission; First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood and member in Mechanicsville #260 AF & AM Defiance, MO.

Donations to The Historic Kirkwood Train Foundation, 110 W. Argonne Dr, 63122, or any Kirkwood charity, appreciated.

Semper Fi, Jim!
