Obituary for Sister Mary Vianney Johnson Rsm

Johnson, Sister Mary Vianney RSM, died unexpectedly and peacefully on Feb. 2, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Community in Mercy Center, St. Louis, MO. A Sister of Mercy for 66 years, she was 84 years old.
Sister Vianney entered the Sisters of Mercy in Webster Groves, MO. She had ministered as a teacher and a principal at elementary schools in Chaffee and Gillespie, IL, St. Louis, MO, New Orleans, LA and Oklahoma City, OK. From 1994 to 2015, she ministered in mission integration and mission services at Mercy Hospital St. Louis; St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis; St. John’s Mercy Health Care in St. Louis and Chesterfield, MO and East Community-Mercy Health in St. Louis. Since June 2015, she had volunteered in surgery center services at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Our sister in Christ, cousin and friend to many.

Services: Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Welcoming and Remembrance Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. Wake service at 5:00 p.m. followed by Mass at 6:00 p.m. at Mercy Center Chapel, 2039 N. Geyer Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Catherine’s Residence, 2039 N. Geyer Rd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
