Obituary for Margaret Vollmer (Clickner)

Margaret Vollmer (Clickner)
Margaret Vollmer, 96, passed away peacefully on Feb 16, 2018. Originally from Dearborn, Michigan, Margaret moved to St. Louis, MO in 2002 to be closer to family. Margaret, one of three children, was born to James and Rose Clickner. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Frances and James.

Margaret was an creative cook, had an outstanding fashion sense, and enjoyed dancing and music. As a young woman she was an accomplished ballerina. Margaret was a stay-at-home mother until her two children went to college. She then worked in the women’s clothing business and was employed at Saks Fifth Avenue in Dearborn until she retired at 80.

She gave her family many gifts, the most important of which were her deep love for them, sense of humor and ability to laugh at her own foibles.

A funeral mass will be held at Immacolata Catholic Church, 8910 Clayton Rd on Saturday, Feb 24, 2018. All are invited to attend a wake at 9am followed by mass at 10am.

Margaret is survived by her two daughters: Diane (Ron) Keller of St. Louis and Sue (Jim) Waters of Denver, CO. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Laura Baylis (David), Greg Keller(Tami) and Katie Ryan(Tim), David Self and Megan Self. “Maggie” took great pride and enjoyment in her 10 great grandchildren: Emma, Caroline, Meg, & Lily Baylis, Mac, Annie & Mia Ryan, Eva Self, Claire & Grace Keller and her beloved Clickner family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The St Louis Children’s Choirs 2842 N. Ballas Rd, St Louis, MO 63131. She will be interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan at a later date.
