The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Schisla can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Robert Schisla
Schisla, Robert, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Feb. 22, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Alma Schisla; dear father of Barbara Montanye, Gretchen (Eric Flug) Schisla, Robert (Karla) Schisla, Jr., Carol (Kevin) Higgins and David (Nancy Hunkeler) Schisla; dear grandfather of Cristin, Colleen, Brian, Megan, John, Michael, and Sarah; dear great-grandfather of Ethan, Grace, Christine, Vivian, Eleanor, Liam, Jack, Caroline, and Rose; dear brother of Charles Schisla, and the late Margaret Reilly; dear uncle, cousin and friend to many. He was a native of Indianapolis, and earned a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Purdue University. Bob’s 35-year professional career with Monsanto touched subjects such as functional fluids, fine chemicals and fragrances, and nutritional ingredients, producing 30+ publications and patents. He was an avid sports fan (go Boilermakers!) and reader, maintaining interests in a broad range of subjects. Most of all, he was a devoted husband and father, and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
