Obituary for George Paradissis

Paradissis, George Nick, Sat., June 30, 2018. Beloved husband of Janice Lamb Paradissis for 51 years; dear father of Nicholas (deceased) and Alexander (Beri) of Wentzville MO; dear brother of Billy (Demitra) of Athens, Greece; dear brother-in-law of Kathleen and Dennis Dick of Rochester, MN; dear Papou of Zoe, Emma and Jori; uncle, cousin and friend.

George was born in Chios, Greece and emigrated to the US for graduate study in 1961 after undergraduate work at the University of Athens and service in the Greek Army. A proud naturalized American citizen, graduate of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy with a M.S. in Pharmaceutical Research and also the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Research. George had a career of 34 years with several pharmaceutical companies rising to the level of VP of Research. An active member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Des Peres MO in several roles including Sunday School teacher for many years and the Parish Council with a term as President. Member of numerous professional associations.

His passions were his family, the Assumption Church, his Pharmacy profession, philanthropy and travel. In his spare time he had a talent for fixing and repairing anything and everything.

Services at the Assumption Church by Bopp Funeral Home on Sat., July 7 at 10 am with visitation in the church prior from 9 – 10 am. Interment will be private at St. Matthews Cemetery. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the Assumption Youth Ministries, the Nicholas G. Paradissis Fund at the Assumption or the charity of your choice.

George's family invites you to a celebration of his life at The Willows on Saturday, July 21, from 2 to 4 pm.
