The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Alice Provaznik can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Cathy Wilmott

On behalf of all of us at Cardinal Glennon Hospital and the Guild, I would like to express our sympathy to Alice’s family and extend our immense gratitude for her service to our hospital through the Sweet Babies Organization. Although I have only know Alice for 3 to 4 years, I feel blessed and honored to have worked with her through the Cardinal Glennon Guild. She and the kind volunteers from the Sweet Babies Organization reached out to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital offering to provide many needed children's items, such as Pack n Plays, strollers, diapers, clothes, blankets, etc, to babies and children being discharged from hospital who lacked these basic items. She worked tirelessly and with great enthusiasm to improve and brighten many lives with her kindness. She loved her large family and numerous grandchildren. She talked about them with love and pride and frequently recruited them to help with her Sweet Babies projects. Moving to a retirement home these past few years did not slow Alice down. She not only continued to help children and families being discharged from the hospital, but also inspired the other residents to join in and help her in providing for the poor by holding virtual baby showers whereby everybody would bring something to donate. The residents loved it and felt empowered instead of lonely, bored or disabled. Alice had a gentle heart, a mischievous sense humor and yet a strong resolve to get things done. She was selfless and her spirit was contagious. Her faith was unshakable and she was always optimistic that God would provide even when she couldn't. Although she has departed from us, her work will continue through her beloved Sweet Babies Organization and she will continue to provide for many more babies and families in need. All of us at Cardinal Glennon and the Guild will miss you Alice!
