Obituary for Edward A Spiess

Edward A  Spiess
Ed Spiess, 93, died peacefully at his home Tuesday Jan 22, 2019.
He leaves behind Mary, his wife of 70 years; daughters Jean (Wayne) Berry and Diane Young; grandchildren Ellen, Jennifer, Laura, Jesse, Nate, Micah, and Mark; great-grandchildren Riley, Evan, Jake, Milena, Benaiah, Camila; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Jane, his siblings Jane and Bill, and Great-Granddaughter Analisia.

Mr. Spiess was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Pintado. He was an avid golfer. He also loved handball, and was one of the founding members of the St. Louis Hinder Club in the 1970’s. The Hinder Club was like his second family, he visited several times a week to play cards and shoot the breeze until his death.

Funeral Service Tuesday Jan 29th at 11am at Bopp Chapel. Interment Valhalla Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Visitation Monday January 28th 3:30pm until 7:30pm at Bopp Chapel.
