The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Harold Brown can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Harold R. Brown Sr.

Harold R. Brown Sr.
Harold R. Brown, Sr., Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Sun., Feb. 10, 2019. Harold. Daddy. Pop. Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend.
Harold Richard Brown Sr. was born on January 18, 1932, to Ervin and Edna Perkins. He and his 12 siblings were later supported by his grandfather, Mack, and his grandmother Annie Brown following the death of his mother. At an early age, Harold joined Rosehill Life Missionary Baptist Church in Robertsville, MO. He later reaffirmed his faith in God and joined the Catholic faith, becoming a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
As a young man Harold enjoyed many outdoor activities as well as spending time with family-- passions that he would continue throughout his life. Harold married Lorraine Spears in 1953. They settled in Meacham Park and later moved to their longtime Kirkwood residence. To this union eight children were born who cherish his memory: Harold Richard Brown, Jr. (Anita), Deborah Wright, Cynthia Foster, Milton Brown (Jeanette), Martin Brown (Vicky) Mark Brown (Linda), Marla Arinze and Susan Brown Miles (Carlton).
Harold was a hard and dedicated worker and held numerous jobs over the years to help support his family. He worked for the City of Kirkwood for many years and later with Chrysler until his retirement. Following retirement he was able to spend more time pursuing his hobbies of fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, and traveling.
He leaves beloved brothers Jessie (Sarah) and Charley (Barbara), as well as sisters Margaret Williams, Norma Artis (Willie), Alberta Rodney and Edna Pinder; and also leaves many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Erving and Edna Brown, Annie Brown, Mack Brown, brothers Irving, Oscar (Mabel), Edward (Margaret), and sisters Genevieve Brown and Mary Woods.
Harold has led a full, active, caring, adventurous, and dignified life. We have all been blessed to know him.

Services: Visitation Wed., Feb. 13, 5-8 pm at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Funeral Mass Thurs., Feb. 14, 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 243 W. Argonne, Kirkwood.
