The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of William Morris Smit, Jr. "Will" can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Katie Spearing
Condolence: Smit family-

I was devastated when I heard the news I had about young Will. I am a former coworker of Will (his father) from Walgreens. I know how much he loved his son and how proud he was of him. Will’s love for his son was so obvious whenever he spoke of him. My aunt, who knew older Will(the father), called me about what happened and I immediately burst into tears. I can’t imagine what you all must be feeling right now. Although I know the pain is probably unbelievable. I hope that as the days go by, and life becomes a little more bearable, that your memories with Will and the love and pride you had for him gets you through the hard times. I’ve met him and he was such a bright and jovial guy. It sounds like he had a great upbringing and a good life.
You’re in my thoughts. Katie spearing

Condolence From: Gina and Coach Jones
Condolence: There are no words to convey are deep felt sorrow for the loss of such a light. We take solace in the fact that Wil was doing what he loved in a place he loved. Coach and I were touched by his fun and gentle spirit in the short time we knew him. He left a lasting impression - one that we will never forget. May God give you peace and wrap his loving arms around you. May God welcome Wil and keep him in all his ways. Gina and Mike.
