Obituary for George F. Williams

George Francis Williams of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on May 3, 2019 from complications of lung cancer. He was 81 years old. George was born on June 5, 1937 to R.T. and Agnes Williams in Greenwood, Mississippi.
George spent the majority of his youth in Lenoir City, Tennessee where he loved hunting and fishing with his lifelong friend Jimmy Phillips. He graduated from Lenoir City High School as part of the Class of 1955. He went on to serve 4 years in the Navy and graduate from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He married his wife of 57 years, Susan Williams, on September 6th, 1961.
George is survived by his children Kathryn and Dan Sorensen of Seattle, WA, David and Tracy Williams of Monett, MO, Kevin and Robin Williams of Huntsville, Alabama. Grandchildren Emily Wagner, Madeline Williams, Alice Williams, Norah Williams, Henry Williams, and Molly Williams. His brother Robert “Bobby” Williams and wife Debbie, as well and numerous nieces and nephews.
George will be laid to rest at Crandall Cemetery in Lenoir City, Tennessee.
George was a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to so many. His example of integrity, work ethic, and commitment to family will be missed.
