Obituary for
Julia Margaret Watson
Julia Margaret Watson was born on February 15, 1931 in St. Louis to Samuel McCluer Watson II and Martha Agnes Wilson Watson. She died on July 4, 2019 in St. Louis County. Julia grew up in St. Louis City, and St. Charles and Calloway Counties. In 1949 she graduated from Jefferson City High School as valedictorian, later receiving a BA from Washington University. There she worked as assistant to the Dean of Students for ten years. She received an MA in Counseling at Indiana University, going on to serve students at Meramec Community College as a Guidance Counselor for nearly 40 years. Beloved sister of Mary Watson Bird [Robert], Martha Watson Hornberger [d. Kent], d. Sally Anne Watson, and d. Samuel McCluer Watson III; also survived by two nieces, three nephews, and six great nieces and nephews who remember her kindness, generosity, independence, and intellectual curiosity. Visitation: Bopp Chapel, Sunday July 14, 4-6pm. Funeral: 11am, July 15 at Bopp Chapel followed by Burial: Dardenne Presbyterian Church Creek Cemetery, St. Charles County.
