Obituary for Dorothy Ann Gegel (Kruse)

Dorothy Ann Gegel (Kruse)
Dorothy A. (Kruse) Gegel was born on October 5, 1932 in St. Louis, Mo and passed away peacefully in her home on January 13th, 2020. She was the daughter of Otto and Emma (Lehmann) Kruse and united in marriage on September 13, 1958 to Donald L. Gegel . They celebrated over 50 years of marriage and had two children, David (Raynell) Gegel and Jennifer Kent; and 4 grandchildren, Jimmy (Dani) Kent, Michelle Gegel, Emma Kent, and Grant Gegel. Don and Dottie were members of Covenant Presbyterian Church and were a part of the church family since the early 1970’s.
Dottie graduated from Kirkwood High School, William Woods College and then Western Michigan University as an Occupational Therapist. She enjoyed painting and many other crafts that she was able to use to help rehabilitate her patients. Dottie also had a love for gardening and flowers that came from her parents and other family members who worked at Kruse Florist. In her last days, she was able to enjoy drawing and painting flowers and made many cards from her paintings. Not only were the visitors and caregivers who came into her home recipients of her art and cards but she always shared her love of Jesus.
Memorial Service at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 18, at 10 a.m., 2143 N. Ballas Rd., St Louis, MO 63131
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian church “Missions”.
