Obituary for Sr. Mary Aloysia Heurich

Sr. Mary Aloysia Heurich
Sister died peacefully at the Visitation Monastery at Catherine’s Residence on Wednesday February 19, 2020. A funeral Mass was celebrated on February 22, 2020 in the chapel of Visitation Academy at 3020 N. Ballas by Fr. Dominic Lenk, OSB and Fr. Gerard Garrigan, OSB. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery.
Rose Marie Heurich was born in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 1925 to William Joseph Heurich and Helen (O’Connor) Heurich. She was the beloved sister of Mabel (Frank) Capacchione, Louise Lewter, Lucille (John) Harbin and the late Shirley Carpenter, Joseph, Maurice and John Heurich; survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews, as well as her loving Sisters in Religion and friends.

Sr. Aloysia entered the Visitation of Holy Mary community in Frederick, Maryland on December 8, 1943. She transferred to Visitation of St. Louis on September 22, 1968. After teaching kindergarten and elementary school in her early years, she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from the Missouri Baptist School of Nursing in 1977, and cared for her sisters for many years as the Infirmarian RN. She enjoyed cooking, reading, knitting/crocheting, playing the organ and just being with friends. She also took great pleasure in volunteering in the Visitation Academy upper school library. In July 2020, Sr. Aloysia would have celebrated her 75th anniversary of religious profession

Memorials may be made to the Visitation Academy Financial Aid Fund.
