Obituary for Kathleen Gray Kovacs

Kathleen Gray Kovacs
Secure in the promise of resurrection and fortified by the Holy Sacraments Kathleen Gray Kovacs entered the Heavenly Jerusalem on May 15, 2020.

Beloved wife of Andrew Kovacs for 28 years; loving mother to Molly Steiner and Abigail Kovacs; dear sister, aunt, and friend. Kathleen was a witness to the Gospel message of love to everyone who knew her.

Kathleen was born and raised in New Orleans, LA the fourth of five children to the late John and Rose Rita Gray. She moved to the St. Louis area in 1989. She has worked as a paint salesperson, a hairdresser, a recess monitor and a first-grade teacher’s aide. Kathleen brought the light of Christ to others every day by being so optimistic and joyful, so loving and so caring of each person she encountered. She will be missed by many people in many places, but none more than her beloved parish family at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church.
Kathleen devoted herself to her family and loved her home, her garden and to have a drink while cooking dinner for everyone. She gave generously of her time and endless energy to many things, all for the benefit of others. She had a special devotion the Blessed Mother, to the Holy Land and to The Divine Mercy.
Kathleen was invested as a Dame of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher in 2011. She made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2018 and in many ways it was a spiritual highlight to her already rich faith life. She quickly became a favorite personality in our local chapter, and she will certainly be greatly missed.

Services and visitation will be private due to mandated occupancy restrictions.

Memorial donations preferred to The American Cancer Society.
