Obituary for Joyce A. Boyle (Lemiech)

Joyce A. Boyle (Lemiech)
Joyce Boyle, age 76, died on Monday, July 6, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. She was surrounded by her loving husband William (Bill) Boyle of 79 years and by her son, William (Bill) J. Boyle III, and daughter Sharon Leigh. A second son then welcomed her into the heavens, Ryan Mathew Boyle, who passed away in 1973. She is also survived by her brother William Lemiech.

Joyce graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing, Holyoke, MA. Joyce worked as a nurse until the late seventies when she began to dedicate her career and life to serving her family.

Joyce and her family left Massachusetts in 1977 and followed Bill’s job assignments in Decatur, Alabama, in Kearny, New Jersey, and in Sauget, Illinois. Bill retired in 1997 and he and Joyce shared a lovely retirement together in Des Peres, MO. Over the past three years, Joyce was a dedicated passionate caregiver to her husband, who has advanced Parkinson’s disease.

Joyce was kind, gregarious and energetic. She loved to cook, shop, and spend time or talk on the phone with friends and family. She enjoyed children, and celebrating holidays and birthdays with her family. Friends and neighbors always acknowledged how beautiful, witty, fun and classy she was. She will be missed greatly by so many.

Visitation hours will be held at Bopp Chapel Friday, July 10, from 4pm to 6pm. A memorial mass will be held at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Kirkwood on Saturday, July 11 at 12:00 noon. We welcome all and ask for you to please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.

Joyce will be laid to rest in a grave side service at Gate of Heaven Cemetary, 421 Tinkham Rd., Springfield, Massachusetts on Friday, July 17, 11AM. All are welcome and we ask for you to please wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines.
