Osceola  Thurman (Thomas)
Born Osceola Thomas September 30th 1911 in Sturgis MS to Monroe & Georgia Thomas. Georgia died in 1918 and “OC” took over the cooking for the family of; Monroe, Theodore “T.D”, Booker T., Willie Lee (6) and Early D. (4), Thomas. Left Ackerman MS in 1922 for Commerce MO. Moved from Commerce MO to St. Louis 1927. Held a couple of labor jobs but finally became a Domestic Servant, her true calling. Served the Greenleaf family for three generations. Married twice to good men, no children of her own. Reconditioned and added to her three room home in Mecham Park bringing it to 8 rooms and a car port. Lived in the Kirkwood House for 25 years. Lived in the Mary Culver Home since February 2012. Survived by nephew Theodore Thomas and nieces Charlotte Thomas Reed and Denise Porter. Special friend of Michael C.
