Gerald Thompson Canatsey, age 101, entered fully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 6, 2020. Jerry was born in Iola, Kansas to Ona and T.O. Canatsey on August 25, 1919. He had one sister, Lucille Canatsey Buller.
On February 6, 1943 Jerry married the love of his life, May “Sadie” Canatsey (Agnew) and were married 74 years until death do they part when Sadie passed away January 19, 2017. They were blessed with two children D. Craig Canatsey (Nancy) and Sara Canatsey Roden (John). They had six grandchildren Lisa Whitmore (Mark), Kelli Wilmot (Joe), Nick Canatsey (Becky), Anna Thompson (Eric), Neil Roden, and Kyle Roden (Annie). Fourteen great-grandchildren Cameron, Megan and Walker Whitmore, Toby, Piper, Wes and Tatum Wilmot, Phoebe, Karlee and Sadie Canatsey, Charlotte and George Thompson, Murphy and Macklin Roden. Jerry was also dedicated to his family as an uncle, great-uncle and was blessed with many lifelong friends. He was the most incredible father, husband, friend and Christian man who lead by example. We count ourselves blessed to have been loved by him.
Jerry was a veteran of World War II, reaching the rank of Major. He graduated from Kansas University in 1942. He was a longtime executive for Pet Incorporated, Rotary Club member, Bible Study Fellowship leader and church deacon.

Due to Covid-19 his Memorial Service and Burial will be private.
