Obituary for Daniel Jarrett Lewis

Daniel Jarrett Lewis
Daniel Jarrett Lewis, 24, was a loving son, brother, grandson and friend that left us all too soon on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Daniel is survived by his mother Kim Zacha-Lewis, father and step-mother Dan and Joanne Lewis, brother Timothy Lewis, maternal grandmother Lana Leimkuhler and aunts, uncles, cousins, step-brothers and countless friends.

Daniel was born on September 2, 1996 in Chesterfield Missouri. He graduated from Parkway Central High School in 2015. Dan played football in the State Championship in 2014 as an offensive lineman, #72. Dan was known to have his teammates backs. He was always the first to provide encouragement and to help his teammates. Upon graduation Daniel attended Murray State University, Murray, Kentucky. Daniel started his career at Cardiovascular Technologies where he was a Sales Representative covering a three State area. Daniel enjoyed golfing, playing/watching football and was a lifelong Chiefs fan. LeBron James was Daniel’s favorite athlete. When Daniel was relaxing you could find him loving on his dog, Forrest. One of Daniel’s hidden talents was to karaoke on demand and his favorite song was Drive by Alan Jackson, although he could never turn down belting out a Staind song when he was with some of his closest friends. Daniels’s friends describe him as selfless; caring more about others than himself. Daniel believed that it was never a bad time to have a good time.

Daniel was loved so much by his family and friends. Daniel always had a contagious smile that would brighten the darkest of days. His kindness, loving demeanor and warm personality was welcoming to everyone who met him.

Daniel could always be found with his bother Tim and Cousin Alex by his side. They were truly the best of friends since they were born and always had each other backs. They loved being together and creating mischief, tailgating together at the Chiefs game, boating, barbequing and gaming. Daniel was all about his family! He loved his Mom and Dad and always made time to prioritize family events. Daniel, also, was a committed boyfriend to his high school sweetheart Kayla Kozel. They were truly each other’s Yin and Yang!

Words cannot express the amazing love and the indelible imprint that Daniel’s beautiful soul had on our lives.

The visitation will take place on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Showing the highest respect and concern for those vulnerable to COVID-19, masks are required.
Additionally, the funeral will immediately follow the visitation from 3:00pm to 4:00 pm and will be limited to family due to COVID-19 limitations on seating. All services will take place at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, Missouri 63122-1308. www.boppchapel.com.

Your presence at Daniel’s visitation is the greatest gift. Given Daniel’s love for others the family suggests in lieu of flowers, to donate in Daniel’s honor to your favorite charity.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
PROVERBS 3:5-6

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers (and sisters), whatever is true, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
PHILIPPIANS 4:6-8
